How much does a HAVA Partners online training program cost?

HAVA Partners’ online training program is very affordable, both in the initial investment and to operate the program over the long term.

There are 2 cost areas:

(1) Content Creation and Site Development — This is a one-time, fixed cost to convert the client’s existing training content to online purposes and to create supplemental elements to enhance the learning experience. Content and site development beyond the standard is charged at an hourly rate.

(2) Support and Maintenance — This is an annual fee that includes licensing the program and hosting the site.


How do we get started?

HAVA Partners will provide you with a draft project timeline so you can assemble the time, talent and materials to work most efficiently with us.

Identify a leader and assemble experts who can help at different phases of the content and site development. Make sure that your materials are up to date and complete.

We will begin the project by identifying your technical requirements and the instructional outcomes you want to achieve.


How long before my course will be ready to use?

As soon as the course is developed and approved, it is ready to use.  HAVA Partners hosts the site on a secure technology platform, so there is no proprietary software to install and learn to use.

Developing a new online training course from up-to-date and complete existing materials takes 2-3 months.

In our experience, three problems can wreak havoc on the timeline:

  • Unforeseen circumstances arise (one client’s team was struck by a flu epidemic!)
  • The existing training content turns out to be less-than-ready-for-prime-time and / or
  • Expert team members do not schedule time to perform their task (such as approving the content or testing the site) in the time allotted.

HAVA Partners always meets our timeline milestones!


How much time will I have to spend on developing a course?

It will take 2-3 months to develop an online training course. Your team leader will spend an hour or so a day on the project: coordinating the rest of the team members’ activities, locating materials, obtaining information and approval from within your organization.

There will be bursts of more intense activity, too: reviewing and approving drafts of the course content; reviewing the content once it is posted, testing the site just prior to launch. Each of these will take the designated team members 2-3 hours.


Do I have to involve other people in developing the course?

Yes! It’s important to involve a number of people in developing the course for two reasons:
1) to make sure the course content is accurate and
2) to create some “buzz” or early acceptance of the online course.

Your team should have one leader who can pull in people with expertise at different phases of the project. A few people should be responsible for reviewing, refining and finalizing the course content. A larger group of people should be involved in each round of testing the site. All should be aware of the timeline and reserve time in their schedules to do their part!


What is the role of my technology team?

HAVA Partners hosts the training site on our secure technology platform, so there is no intrusion on your organization’s technology infrastructure.

We will want to touch base with your technology team at the beginning of the project so that they are aware of and comfortable with the site, the interface, and the security.
